Samuel Beckett Bridge LED Installation

In 2018 Eventco was contracted by Dublin City Council to design, deliver and maintain a spectacular LED installation on Dublin’s iconic Samuel Beckett Bridge.

The installation consists of over 1400 individually controlled colour changing LED nodes which are attached to the twenty-five suspension chords of the bridge. Each node is mapped to create a giant canvas for delivery of imagery and messaging as part of municipal events in the city. The installation took place over just three nights and was used to launch the EURO2020 draw on December 2nd 2018. The installation was then used for the month of December as part of Winter Lights showing festive imagery before being used for a New Years Eve countdown broadcast live on TV.

The logistics of the installation required minimum interferon with Dublin traffic as well as the requirement for the bridge to swing open to allow shipping traffic to enter the Liffey.
